5 reasons to come to Morzine this winter to improve your French!

Welcome to Morzine, an enchanting alpine setting where learning French takes on a whole new dimension. Discover the unsuspected charms of this exceptional winter resort, where every snowflake tells a story. Wondering why Morzine is the ideal place to improve your French this winter? Let me tell you five exciting reasons why.

1. Proximity to an international airport
Morzine is only 1 hour from Geneva, which has an international airport. Numerous transfer companies offer a door-to-door transfer service at very competitive prices!

There are also 2 train stations 30 minutes away (Thonon-Les-Bains and Cluses) and I’ll pick you up there at no extra charge 😉

2. A quiet, natural environment perfect for studying
My chalet is located 3km from the bustling center of Morzine, in very quiet surroundings with magnificent mountain views.

The plus: the chalet is self-sufficient thanks to its insulation, solar panels, geothermal system, and wood-burning stove!

3. Morzine: a life-size playground!
Morzine is part of the Portes du Soleil and has 650km of pistes, so you can ski or snowboard after your French course!

If you don’t ski, you can walk or snowshoe along the many signposted itineraries.

After ski time, everyone gathers in the bars and cafés for a vin chaud accompanied by live music. A tradition not to be missed!

4. Welcome to the land of cheese!
Reblochon, abondance, tomme, raclette, emmental… These are just some of the cheeses made here!

They are the basis of many of the specialties you’ll be able to sample: tartiflette, raclette, fondue… your stay will be a gastronomic one.

And let’s not forget the local wines and beers!

5. A rich and fascinating history
Morzine is not just about skiing. Skiing developed only about 50 years ago, although the village has existed since 1180!

In the past, the people of Morzine lived off natural resources: slate, wood, and agriculture. Traces of this history can be found in the village’s architecture, and I’d be delighted to tell you more!

For example: Did you know that Morzine has only been a French commune for 163 years?

So for these 5 reasons, go ahead and choose Morzine to improve your French!

And of course, there’s a 6th reason: ME 😉 I’ll be your teacher and I’ll do everything I can to help you progress in French and have an unforgettable stay.
